General --November is the last month of meteorological autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, and of spring in the Southern Hemisphere. --Thunderstorms in tropical regions move from the east, while they move from the west in the southern and northern portions of the map. --Lightning typically occurs during daylight hours over Africa. --The equatorial trough over the Atlantic is often well defined between Ivory Coast and northeast Brazil. The trough is sporadically identifiable over the Indian Ocean. --Thunderstorm activity is present every day over Madagascar, while the Sahara and South Atlantic are usually free of lightning. --Over the Mediterranean and along the northern shore of Africa, several cyclonic circulations move slowly from west to east. ~Ron Holle
