General --September is the first month of meteorological autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. --Lightning is much less frequent over Europe than during August. --Nearly all thunderstorms are in organized systems that move generally from west to east over Europe. --Almost no thunderstorms occurred over the United Kingdom, Spain, and Portugal in September. --Some storms occur over Algeria during September.
