--July is the middle month of meteorological summer in the Northern Hemisphere. --Frequent lightning activity is apparent in lines and small clusters over all of Europe except it is more scattered over Scandinavia during the course of July. --Nearly all thunderstorms move from a westerly component over Europe, while they are mostly stationary or move slowly from the east over North Africa. ~Ron Holle
