--The major islands and land areas of tropical Southeast Asia have daily thunderstorms in sea breezes and along mountain slopes; they move slowly E to W early in November and later from W to E. --Most thunderstorms at higher latitudes move from west to east. --Over the Indian subcontinent, lightning is mostly in the south and ends by mid-November. --The equatorial trough, the Intertropical Convergence Zone, is intermittent over the Western Pacific and not usually identifiable over the Indian Ocean. --Over Australia, most lightning is in large organized systems moving from the west or southwest. --New Zealand has occasional lightning events through the month. --01 to 03 November: Large cyclonic circulation over western half of Australia. --10 to 19 November: Tropical Cyclone Gaja in Bay of Bengal; moves W across southern tip of India on 15th. --22 to 25 November: Tropical Storm Usagi moves E to W across Vietnam. ~Ron Holle
