--June is the first month of meteorological summer in the Northern Hemisphere. --Lightning activity over Europe is most often in small lines and clusters. --Many of the thunderstorms over western and southern Europe move from a southerly component, while those to the north travel from W to E. --The Mediterranean and the United Kingdom have minimal thunderstorm activity in June. --01 to 05 June: Daily thunderstorms over the mountains of Morocco. --03 to 08 June: Large cyclonic circulation over Eastern Europe centered on Hungary. --04 to 08 June: Series of storm forms over northern France and moves to the NNE or N. --07 to 09 June: Scandinavia has widespread lightning. --08 to 20 June: Prolonged period of lightning activity over Turkey. --26 to 29 June: Long line of lightning moving from SE to NW offshore of Ireland. --29 to 30 June: Storms move across northern United Kingdom. ~Ron Holle
