--March is the first month of meteorological autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, and of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. --Most thunderstorms at higher latitudes are moving from W to E, while there is weak motion near the equator. --The major islands of SE Asia have thunderstorms nearly every afternoon due to sea breezes and along the slopes of mountain ranges. --Frequent lightning is on the S side of the Himalayas over India during the last half of the month. --10 to 14 March: Tropical Cyclone Pam is apparent in circular lightning patterns on the east edge of the view. Tropical Cyclone Bavi is apparent on the 11th to the north of Pam. Tropical Cyclone also Gwynn appears briefly on the NW coast of Australia on the 12th. --13 to 16 March: Frequent lightning over India. ~Ron Holle
