--November is the last month of meteorological spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. --The equatorial trough, also called the Intertropical Convergence Zone, is intermittently active over the Atlantic Ocean. --Small clusters of lightning move W onto the Atlantic Ocean from Guinea, Liberian, and Sierra Leone on many days. --Afternoon thunderstorms often form over the eastern third of sub-Saharan Africa and move W. --Almost no lightning occurs over the Sahara, except along the Mediterranean coast. --04 to 05 November: A well-organized line of lightning moves W to E across South Africa. --14 to 16 and 20 to 24 November: Large thunderstorms form over central Saudi Arabia and move NE. --20 to 24 and 28 to 30 November: Frequent lightning over Morocco and adjacent areas. ~Ron Holle
