Boosting Work Safety Culture With Video

Eltel Networks is a leading Northern European provider for services of infrastructure networks, communication and power. They operate in the Nordics, Poland and Germany and have 8 700 employees. Due to the nature of Eltel’s business, health and safety plays a big part in their company. At Eltel, employees often work in very hazardous conditions, for example at heights with high electricity.

Eltel wanted to improve their work safety culture with a program called “Goal Zero”. With Dream Broker Studio, they were able to enhance communication of work safety practices to the field technicians and managers. They discovered that written instructions and guidelines could be made more comprehensible through video.

“We need to reach our geographically spread out and mobile work force, everyday wherever they operate. And Dream Broker video is a great tool for that.”

Eltel uses Dream Broker both internally and externally. With videos they can easily communicate business processes to their partners. Their international videos are subtitled to all relevant languages and sent out to technicians and managers by emails or SMS.

Eltel has gained many benefits with Dream Broker Studio. They are now able to demonstrate different work situations better and get important messages out faster. They have gained time efficiency and cost reductions by replacing many face-to-face trainings with videos. And perhaps most importantly, videos have helped to decrease the number of work-related injuries.

“In the future online videos become more and more important because the next generation has joined the game. I’m also looking forward to using online videos not only on health and safety but also to improve overall business operations and processes.”
