Dream Broker’s New Mobile App Brings Enterprise Videos to Mobile Devices

Posted on: May 19, 2014|||

Dream Broker, Finnish growth company of the year 2013, is launching a mobile application for its cloud-based online video software, Dream Broker Studio. With the new mobile application, every employee will be able to shoot, share and watch enterprise videos with their mobile devices whenever and wherever they like. In addition to the mobile application, new Enterprise features are introduced for Dream Broker Studio. These features are designed to meet the needs of large international organisations, improving their productivity with a more efficient, accessible and secure way of using online videos.

Dream Broker Studio is an easy-to-use cloud-based software with which every user can manage the whole life cycle of online video – from creating the video to editing and sharing it. Many leading global organisations such as ABB, Bayer and Stora Enso already use it.

Enterprise videos on-the-go

With the new, easy-to-use mobile application for Dream Broker Studio, every employee can shoot, share and watch online videos with their mobile devices. Users can quickly shoot a video with their mobile device and share it with selected colleagues or reach a wider audience, for example by posting the video on the company intranet. When a new video is published to a channel, the mobile application sends a notification to the users, who can then watch the video when convenient. All of this makes using online video effective and user friendly.

“Shooting, sharing and watching online videos with the Dream Broker Studio mobile application is easier and more flexible than before. With the help of the application, video messages also effectively reach those employees who work remotely, regardless of time and location. Our customers can, for example, create video recordings of work situations and send them quickly to where needed. This makes enterprise communications more effective, and important video messages will instantly reach the whole personnel or a more selected group,” says Dream Broker’s Chief Technology Officer Petri Raitio.

The mobile application is available for download for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone devices.

New Enterprise features meet the needs of large international organisations

The new Enterprise features of Dream Broker Studio are designed to meet the needs of large international organisations: single sign-on, Microsoft SharePoint integration and global content delivery enable scalable, secure and worldwide use of online videos.

Single sign-on authenticates the Dream Broker Studio user with a Microsoft Active Directory username, enabling the easy management of thousands of users and reducing users’ password fatigue. In addition, the online videos are only accessible to authorized users, which improves company security.

Microsoft SharePoint integration simplifies and expedites publishing online videos to the company’s existing communication channels. E.g. the users can publish online videos on their Microsoft SharePoint intranet or workspace directly with Dream Broker Studio. This feature saves time and makes for effortless video publishing.

Dream Broker’s customers can also take advantage of the global content delivery via a network of 150,000 servers, which enables faster viewing and more reliable sharing of online videos worldwide.

The demand for online video boosts Dream Broker’s growth

The possibilities created by online videos are revolutionising traditional forms of communications all over the world. A good example of this is the explosive growth in the amount of content shared in consumer oriented online video services. According to Google, approximately 100 hours of video content is uploaded to YouTube alone − every minute.

“Nowadays, telecom operators need to be aware of the success of companies such as Skype. Traditional video rental companies are facing challenges, as movies can be enjoyed more easily for example via Netflix. Communication and information are moving increasingly to the web. We can see that video is one of the fastest growing online trends. As people get more comfortable with using videos in their daily lives, they also start demanding videos for use in their workplace, in use cases such as client and internal communication,” says Dream Broker’s Marketing Manager Jaakko Laukkanen.

According to Laukkanen, one of the reasons behind the growing popularity of online videos is their ability to catch attention and deliver messages in an unaltered and natural manner:

“Marketers know that people spend more time on web pages that include online videos than on a text-based web page. In the future, online videos will be more easily available and more widely used by companies, thanks to innovations such as Google Glass.”

The demand for online videos has boosted Dream Broker’s growth. The company has received several awards for its fast growth. Tietoviikko magazine awarded Dream Broker as the Growth company of the year in December 2013. This was preceded by Dream Broker reaching third place in Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Finland competition in November 2013, an incredible addition to the previous year’s first place and the Red Herring Top 100 Europe award. Dream Broker has subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, and is planning to further expand to Central and Western European markets.
