About the Race

The Nord Stream Race is the largest yacht race in the Baltics, and pits the five best national teams from Finland, Denmark, Germany, Russia and Sweden against each other in an epic 1,000 nautical mile offshore race, visiting each of the participating countries along the way, to determine the ultimate title of “Best Yacht Club in the Baltics”.

Starting in Kiel, the teams will compete in identical, Finnish-designed ClubSwan 50 racing yachts in multiple legs, stopping in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and St. Petersburg. In addition to each of these offshore legs, there will be inshore races held at each of the stopovers, with the yachts racing close to the main harbours creating an exciting event for spectators to enjoy. The results of the offshore legs and inshore races will be combined to produce an overall winner.

Team Finland

Representing Finland is the sailing club of Esbo Segelförening with ten highly skilled young sailors supported by Dream Broker, the leading online video software company from Finland. Dream Broker are especially excited about supporting the race, as one of the crew members is Oliver Hartas, Content Producer at Dream Broker. An experienced sailor originally from Australia, Oliver was asked to join the team as Trimmer, and is especially proud not only to represent Dream Broker, but to have the opportunity to represent Finland as well.
